What is the meaning of dog or cat crying at night? Do animals have visible invisible powers, know the truth here

Many types of rumors and superstitions are prevalent in the society regarding the crying of dogs and cats in the silence of the night. Many people start seeing it as an inauspicious sign, disease or some untoward incident. But is there really any truth to these beliefs, or is it just people’s misconception? Is there any basis for such notions in Islam? On these questions, Shahi Chief Mufti of Uttar Pradesh Maulana Chaudhary Ibrahim Hussain clarified the situation from the Islamic perspective.

Muslim religious leader Maulana Chaudhary Ibrahim Hussain said that generally people consider the crying of a dog, cat or donkey as inauspicious and connect it with the activity of demonic powers, whereas Islam does not allow such misconceptions and baseless fear. He said that according to Islamic teachings, some animals can sense invisible things or situations which humans cannot perceive. For this reason sometimes animals make sounds at night.
no untoward incident happens
Maulana clarified that this does not mean that every time there is a bad or inauspicious sign. This belief is spread in the society that the crying of these animals brings disease, trouble or misfortune to the house, whereas this thinking is completely wrong and based on misconception.

create unnecessary fear
He said that bad omen has no existence in Islam. Every event that happens in this world happens according to the will of Allah and as per the fixed time. The decision of someone’s illness, trouble, death or life is not related to the sound of any animal. Such thoughts create unnecessary fear in the heart of humans, which is against Islamic thinking.

One must trust in Allah
Maulana further said that if ever there is panic in the heart after hearing such voices, then a Muslim should seek refuge in Allah and remember Him. In Islam, instructions have been given to read Aazu Billahi Min Ash-Shaitanir Razeem, Ayatul Kursi and all four Kul for mental peace and security. This gives peace to the heart and by the grace of Allah the person remains safe. He said that a Muslim should have faith in Allah in every situation, because He is the master of everything.
