Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh): Taking a major step to bring the glory of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala to the north-eastern states of the country, the Assam government has decided to provide land in Guwahati for the construction of a divine temple of Lord Venkateswara.
In this regard, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman BR Naidu said in a statement on Saturday that the Assam government has decided to give 25 acres of land in Guwahati for the construction of the divine temple of Lord Venkateswara.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to the CM of Assam
Let us tell you that land was earlier given in Garchuk area of Assam to build the temple, but, because there was already a local temple of God, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, on the request of TTD Chairman, wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Assam requesting to give land in Guwahati.
Naidu said in his letter, “Since Guwahati is an important hub for the entire North-East, I recommend increasing the land for creating Divya Kshetra to about 25 acres. I also want to ask the Assam government to consider providing financial assistance to start various development works on the given land.”
Approval given for 25 acres of land in Guwahati
After this, the Assam government has given its in-principle approval to give 25 acres of land to TTD in Guwahati. TTD Chairman said that he will provide necessary financial assistance for the development work of the proposed project. He also informed that the construction work of the first Lord Venkateswara temple in North-East India will start soon.
Responding positively, the Chief Minister of Assam gave in-principle approval to give 25 acres of land to TTD in Guwahati and also agreed to provide necessary financial assistance to carry out the development work at the proposed site.

At the same time, BR Naidu thanked both the Chief Ministers wholeheartedly for resolving the issue, and assured that TTD will work with the Assam government to complete the formalities related to the process of giving the land and very soon the construction work of the first Lord Balaji temple in Northeast India will start.
