Raipur : The second day of the three-day festival organized in Mainpat, known as ‘Shimla’ of Chhattisgarh, was marked by cultural splendor, enthusiasm and crowd. The melodious echo of the tunes, colorful dance performances and the hustle and bustle of the fair made the entire atmosphere festive. The spectacular performances of famous Chhattisgarhi folk singer Alka Chandrakar and Indian Idol fame Vaishali Raikwar kept the audience engrossed till late night.

Mainpat immersed in the melodious flow of folk music
The program started with a devotional Jasgeet presentation by Alka Chandrakar, which colored the atmosphere in spiritual colours. After this, the captivating renditions of Dadriya, Suva Geet and traditional Chhattisgarhi folk tunes forced the audience to dance. His melodious voice and spontaneous presentation on stage spread the flavor of folk culture.

Dance steps on Bollywood tunes
Vaishali Raikwar enthralled the gathering with her powerful voice and a series of popular Bollywood songs. The audience kept dancing to the songs presented one after the other and the whole complex echoed with thunderous applause. A lot of enthusiasm was seen among the young audience.

Crowd gathered with the thrill of fair, boating and dance

Diversity and Talent Forum
Transgender artists of Shanti Pratima Dance Group from Janjgir-Champa won everyone’s hearts by presenting a soulful dance-drama in the form of ‘Nau Durga’. His energy, expression and dedication gave a special dimension to the program.
Local artistes—Aanchal Madaliar, Manpreet, Dilbag Singh, Mahi Jaiswal and Harsh Puri—also won the audience’s appreciation with their powerful performances.

Glimpse of classical and child talents
The students of Naveen Government Music College, Ambikapur brought alive the dignity of the classical art on the stage by giving a beautiful presentation of Kathak dance. The school children enthralled everyone by showcasing their talent through song and dance.

The excitement of the fair, the thrill of boating and riot
A huge crowd continued to gather till late evening in the grand fair organized at the festival site along with cultural programs. Swings, food and various stalls remained the center of attraction. Tourists and local people enjoyed boating a lot. Special enthusiasm was seen among the spectators to watch the exciting and powerful matches between the wrestlers in the Dangal competition. There were sounds of applause and encouragement at every step.

Collector Ajit Vasant, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Aggarwal, District Panchayat CEO Vinay Kumar Aggarwal, Additional Collector Sunil Nayak, Additional Superintendent of Police Amolak Singh Dhillon, District Vice President Anil Singh, Rajneesh Pandey, Ram Yadav, public representatives, officials and a large number of general public were present in the program.
