Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the two-day 80th general convention of Chhattisgarh Manwa Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj held in village Champa of Baloda Bazar district. At the beginning of the program, he paid tribute to freedom fighter and social reformer Dr. Khubchand Baghel by observing two minutes silence on his death anniversary and paid floral tributes to the eminent personalities of the society. On this occasion, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by garlanding him.

Describing the Manwa Kurmi community as a hard-working, organized and advanced farming tradition, Chief Minister Sai said that the contribution of the society has been important in the progress of the state. Congratulating the 80th General Conference, he said that such events promote reconciliation, coordination and positive decisions in the society, which benefits the entire state and the country. He said that it was a privilege for him to participate in the program organized in Champa, the home village of Revenue and Higher Education Minister Tankaram Verma.

Chief Minister Sai said that education is the strongest foundation for building a strong society. Praising the efforts of the society to connect both sons and daughters with education, he said that only an educated society becomes a self-reliant and progressive society. He also praised the efforts to promote women’s self-employment, awareness about de-addiction among youth and social reform.

Chief Minister Sai said that the state government has worked with full commitment in fulfilling the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He informed that 18 lakh Prime Minister houses have been completed in the state. This year, more than 141 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 25 lakh 24 thousand farmers at support price and before Holi, a differential amount of about Rs 10 thousand crore will be provided to the farmers. Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, an amount of more than Rs 15 thousand crore has been given to 70 lakh women so far.

Chief Minister Sai said that a new picture of development is now visible in the Bastar region. He said that as per the resolution of the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, the government is working strongly towards completely eliminating Naxalism by March 2026. Development works have been accelerated in about 400 villages through the Niyad Nellar Scheme.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced an amount of Rs 50 lakh for the construction of a community building in village Nardaha and Rs 25 lakh for the construction of a community building in Baloda Bazaar.

Addressing the program, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, there has been significant development in the state in the last two years and many public welfare schemes for farmers, women and youth have been effectively implemented.

In the convention, the central president of the society, Khodas Ram Verma, informed about the important decisions of social reform taken by the society. Rajim MLA Rohit Sahu along with a large number of society officials, women, youth and indigenous people were present in the programme.
