Bhopal. State Child Rights Commission has not existed in the state for five months. Complaints are continuously reaching the Commission’s office from different districts of the state. Since there is no commission, complaints from the office are just being forwarded and getting accumulated. When the commission is formed. Only after this they will be resolved. The State Child Rights Commission, which protects the rights of children below 18 years of age in the state, has been waiting for formation for five months. Many cases are pending due to non-constitution of the commission. Complaints are continuously increasing and the interests of children are being violated. Due to lack of action the institutions are also acting arbitrarily. However, applications have been submitted to constitute the commission. Scrutiny of applications is currently going on. After scrutiny, the profiles of the candidates will be reviewed by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria and Secretary GV Rashmi. Six members and a chairperson will be selected from the said profile. There are speculations that the commission will be formed only after March. Let us inform that after the completion of the three-year tenure, the posts in the Commission are vacant from September 2025. The government has submitted applications to appoint new president and members. Till the last date, the government has received about 400 applications. In this, about 275 applications have been given to become members and about 165 applications have been given only to become the president. Candidates have shown more interest in becoming the president. Therefore, some candidates have also submitted applications to become members along with the Speaker. Scrutiny of applications at the government level is happening slowly like a tortoise.

While in the Commission, Chairman Dravindra More and as members Dr. Nivedita Sharma of Bhopal, Omkar Singh of Sagar, Sonam Ninama of village Naharkhodra Indore, Anurag Pandey of Harda, Medha Pawar of Shahdol and Dr. Nisha Srivastava of Bhopal have completed their tenure. Some of these members have also made claim for the post of Speaker. Now CM Yadav along with Minister Bhuria and Secretary Rashmi will test their claims on their own terms. Only after this, six members including the Chairman can be appointed. The appointment may take time till the first week of April.
