Aligarh. Kisan Jagruti Yatra of United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) started from Kanyakumari after a huge public meeting. In which the farmer leaders started the yatra by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and the local farmers handed over copies of the resolutions passed from village to village on farmer demands to Jagjit Singh Dallewal. Farmer leader P.R. Pandyan said that public meetings of farmers will be organized tomorrow at 10 am in Madurai and at 5 pm in Nagapattinam in which farmers of Tamil Nadu will participate in large numbers. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that under the free trade agreement between India and America, the interests of Indian farmers have been harmed. He said that Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is tweeting that the farming and dairy sectors will be protected, but in the joint statement of India and America, it has been said that India is ready to discuss and find a solution to the non-tariff restrictions imposed on America’s agricultural and food products, farmers. Leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that both these are contradictory things and it has become clear from the joint statement of India and America that in the face of American pressure, the Indian government has given approval to open the Indian market for American agricultural products. Due to which the farmers of India will suffer huge losses.
