Chhindwara number one in the country in housing construction
Today a new chapter of development has been written in the tribal area surrounded by distant hills and forests. Under the direction of Collector Harendra Narayan and leadership of CEO District Panchayat Antig Kumar, Chhindwara district administration has made the district proud by securing first position at the national level with the special treatment of Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana. District Panchayat CEO Advance Kumar said, “This success is not just the achievement of data, but is the result of sensitive administration, strong monitoring and collective efforts at the grassroots level.”
The target was for Bharia tribe
Collector Harendra Narayan Told that, “Under Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana, the district had got the target of 5797 houses. This target was especially set for Bharia tribal families. As a result of strong action planning, regular field monitoring and communication at village level, currently 5737 houses (99%) have been completed. This achievement was recorded as the highest housing completion rate in the country and has helped Chhindwara get the first position at the national level.
Material purchased in bulk, benefited from quality and rate.
When the Bharia tribe people got permission from the government to build houses, purchasing building material was proving to be very expensive for them. Because the fare to reach the village from the city was very high and at times the quality was also decreasing. Regarding this, the district administration found such a solution that both savings were achieved and quality goods were also available, for this the material was purchased in bulk. By holding a mass meeting of 1067 beneficiaries from 25 villages, bulk purchase of materials like cement, rebar, bricks etc. was done with the consent of the beneficiaries.
The material was delivered directly to the village level through authorized suppliers. Due to which the price of material reduced from Rs 2 to Rs 55. Due to timely availability of building material and constant monitoring of the administration, 1052 houses were completed in less than 2 months. Transport, technical guidance and other systemic support were also provided to the beneficiaries, due to which the construction work was completed in a hassle-free and quality manner.
The Governor had food at the beneficiary’s house.
Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel had reached Bhodiya Pani village of Chhindwara on 28 January. Where he also had food at the house of PM Janman Awas Yojana beneficiary Rajwati Bharia. Rajwati Bharia said, “Earlier they used to live in a kutcha house, which they used to cover the roof with forest wood and Chhind leaves every year during the rainy season. But they always had to face rain water and other problems. There has been a change in their lives now with the construction of a permanent house.
