Dhamtari: Dhamtari district has now established its unique identity as a strong, progressive and emerging center on the educational map of Chhattisgarh. The district has made remarkable progress in the field of higher education as well as health education. In this series, the ground-breaking ceremony of the new and grand building of the Government Nursing College near the Government Law College in the development block headquarters Kurud was recently completed in a dignified atmosphere under the chief hospitality of MLA Ajay Chandrakar.
MLA Ajay Chandrakar said that Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is doing planned work in every sector including education, health, roads, electricity, water. Last month in November, the Public Health Minister had performed the bhoomi pujan and laid the foundation stone of the new hospital building (upgradation of 100 bed civil hospital) at Swami Vivekananda Indoor Stadium, Kurud Development Block Headquarters. This new hospital building is being built with an amount of more than Rs 17 crore. This building will have five floors.
Ajay Chandrakar said that with the aim of making nursing education quality, practical and employment-oriented, modern and well-organized infrastructure is being created for this college. The proposed building has been designed as per the standards of the Indian Nursing Council (INC), which will provide an overall environment of high level academic, practical and ethical training to the students.
Nursing College New Building: This three-storey building, to be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 8.68 crore, will be architecturally grand, modern and well-equipped. The design of the building has been completely designed keeping in mind the educational needs. There will be a well-equipped entrance lobby, waiting room, rich library, state-of-the-art laboratories, Principal and Vice-Principal rooms and staff room on the ground floor. A huge lecture hall, multipurpose hall, various labs and common rooms will be developed on the first floor, while the facility of a grand auditorium, anatomy lab, computer lab and additional lecture halls will be available on the second floor.
Pre-clinical science lab including Nursing Foundation Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, OBG and Pediatric Lab will be established in the college. Modern equipment and training facilities will be provided in these laboratories, so that students will be able to acquire practical knowledge as well as professional skills.
This nursing college will become a center of hope and opportunity especially for those youth who want to serve the society through health care by building their future in the field of nursing. With the construction of the new building, the daughters and youth of the district will get high quality nursing education in their own district, so that they will not need to go outside. This will not only save their time and resources, but will also increase self-reliance and self-confidence.
Separate common rooms for male and female students, adequate toilets, lifts, wide corridors, washing areas and well-organized arrangements from security point of view will make the building safe, accessible and friendly for the students. To promote digital education, facilities of computer lab, AV AIDS room and multipurpose hall and auditorium for seminars, workshops and cultural activities will also be available.
Collector Abinash Mishra said, “The state government and the district administration are fully committed to skilling the youth, providing them quality education and strengthening health services. This grand building of the Government Nursing College will give a new flight to the dreams of the youth of the district and will give Dhamtari a new identity in the field of health education.
With the completion of the new Nursing College building, not only will the district get skilled and trained nursing staff, but it will also give new impetus to the educational, social and urban development in Kurud and surrounding areas. This initiative of the state government will prove to be a milestone for Dhamtari district in the field of education, health and employment. Rather, it will become an “institution that produces skilled healthcare workers of the future”.
