Raipur : The continuous efforts made by State Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Vijay Sharma regarding women’s education, health and employment have given a new direction to women empowerment in Kawardha. Mahtari Vandan Yojana, along with the initiatives taken to connect women with better health facilities, their education and employment, has created a strong foundation for the socio-economic development of women.

More than 1 lakh 30 thousand women of Kawardha Assembly are benefiting from Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which has become the identity of economic empowerment of women. At the rate of Rs 1 thousand per month, Rs 251 crore 63 lakh 96 thousand have been paid to them so far. The amount of 21 installments of the scheme has been given in the account, and a few days ago the 22nd installment has also been released. Many women are using this amount for better education of their children, while many are using it to meet other household expenses.

Mass marriage of 409 girls was conducted

Due to the efforts of Vijay Sharma, the mass marriage of 409 girls of Kawardha Assembly under the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana was conducted with great pomp, in which the Deputy Chief Minister himself participated as a groom and gave blessings to the newlywed couples.

Sonography checkup camp for pregnant women, more than 1 thousand benefited

Free sonography facility has been started for pregnant women living in remote forest areas, from which more than 1000 women have benefited so far. With timely checkups, proper monitoring of the health of the fetus is becoming possible. In some complex and serious cases, timely treatment may be possible. These check-up camps are proving to be very important in terms of protecting the health of both mother and child.

Distribution of more than 100 sewing machines for self-employed

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has distributed sewing machines to more than 100 women of Kawardha with the aim of promoting women self-employment. So that they can start their own work. This is an innovative effort from the point of view of economic empowerment of women.

Lakhpati Didi Yojana showed women groups the path to economic progress

Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, women are being linked to self-help groups and linked to socio-economic developmental schemes. 6,158 self-help groups have been formed in Kawardha assembly. By connecting with Aajeevika, 13,924 women here have now become financially independent by becoming ‘Lakhpati Didi’.

Mahtari Sadan gives new identity to women empowerment

Due to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat Minister Vijay Sharma, Kabirdham district has got an important gift of 19 Mahtari Houses under the Mahtari Sadan Scheme. This scheme has emerged as a strong example of the state government’s visionary thinking and commitment towards women empowerment. Virtual inauguration of 05 Mahtari Sadan buildings constructed so far in the district was done by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while the construction work of the remaining 14 Mahtari Sadans is in progress at a cost of Rs 3 crore 45 lakh.
