It started from the western part of the state from Monday. In many cities, the temperature has dropped by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius in 24 hours. During this period, the minimum temperature in five cities of the state was recorded below 5 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Bareilly was 3.8 degrees, which is the lowest in the state. The minimum temperature was recorded at 3.9 degrees in Muzaffarnagar, 4.4 degrees in Aligarh, 4.5 degrees in Meerut and 4.9 degrees in Agra. According to the Meteorological Department, after the passing of the western disturbance, the direction of the winds has become north-westerly. Due to this, there is a possibility of cold wave and frost in the districts of Agra, Aligarh, Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad and Rohilkhand divisions of Western Uttar Pradesh today and tomorrow night. No significant change in temperature is expected during the next 48 hours. However, there is a possibility of dense fog in the Terai areas in the morning while light to moderate fog may occur in southern Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog expected from tomorrow

After the western disturbance passes, there will be a change in the weather in and around Varanasi once again. There are chances of dense fog from Wednesday morning. There will be a slight drop in temperature during this period. Cold will increase in the morning and evening but there will be relief from strong sunlight during the day. The sky was clear on Monday morning. There was bright sunshine. Due to this, people are getting relief from cold for the last four days. The day temperature was recorded at 22.3 degrees Celsius, 0.6 degrees above normal and the night temperature was recorded at 8.8 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Prof. Manoj Srivastava said that the weather will change again from Wednesday.
