Raipur : Under the government’s ambitious Vikas Bharat Ji Ram Ji (VB Ji Ram Ji) scheme, Employment Day, Rice Festival and Housing Day are being organized on the 7th of every month in the Gram Panchayats of Dantewada district. Through this programme, villagers and public representatives are being given information about various government schemes.

Providing employment opportunities to rural needy families

Officials said that earlier 100 days of employment was provided under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA), which has now been increased to 125 days under the Vikas Bharat Ji Ram Ji Scheme. The objective of the scheme is to provide employment opportunities to every needy family in rural areas.

Increased transparency through QR code

During the program, villagers were given information about the new QR code based system. Now matching of job card and muster roll is being done by scanning QR code, which has increased transparency and reduced the possibility of irregularities.

Technical guidance for quality housing construction

The names of the beneficiaries approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) were read out and information was given about the installments to be received for housing construction, wage payment, construction materials and facilities provided by other departments. The officials also provided technical guidance to the beneficiaries to complete quality housing construction within the time limit.

Transparency through biometric authentication, mobile based surveillance system and citizen participation.

On the occasion of Employment Day, information about employment guarantee provided under National Rural Livelihood Mission and Vikas Bharat Ji Ram Ji Yojana was also given. It was told that keeping in mind the goal of Developed India 2047, this initiative is being taken to increase the income of rural families and ensure employment.

The program highlighted modern technological measures like biometric authentication, mobile based monitoring system and citizen participation to make monitoring of works, attendance verification and payment process more transparent.

Promotion of fisheries and other livelihood activities by construction of Dabri.

Apart from this, the villagers were also told about the construction of livelihood dam. Dabri construction highlighted the possibilities of increasing income through fisheries and other livelihood activities. At the end of the program, an appeal was made to the villagers to take maximum benefit of the government schemes by participating in the Employment Day, Rice Festival and Housing Day organized on the 7th of every month.
