Bhopal: Severe cold and fog in Madhya Pradesh have slowed down the pace in many cities including the capital Bhopal. The severe cold is now forcing people to remain confined to their homes even during the day after night. Apart from the capital Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, Tikamgarh districts, apart from severe cold, there is dense fog since morning. The sun was not visible for the last 2 days due to western jet stream winds.
Due to this, along with the night temperature, the day temperature has also registered a decline. A drop of up to 3.8 degrees has been recorded in the maximum temperature of Bhopal. The coldest night in the state has been recorded at 2.8 in Naugaon. Here a drop of 8.3 degrees has been recorded in the day and night temperature.

In Madhya Pradesh, the maximum impact of severe winter is visible in Bundelkhand and Gwalior-Chambal area. The harsh winter has shown the maximum impact in Naugaon of Chhatarpur district. In Nagaon, the temperature recorded a drop of 8.3 degrees in a day. The minimum temperature recorded here was 2.5 degrees. Apart from this, it was 10.8 degrees in Chhindwara, 11.2 degrees in Damoh, 11 degrees in Jabalpur, 8 degrees in Khajuraho, 7.6 degrees in Mandla, 9.4 degrees in Umaria, 10.5 degrees in Tikamgarh.

Day temperature below 20 degrees in 11 cities
Apart from the night temperature, now the day temperature is also declining. The day temperature has reached below 20 degrees in 11 cities of the state. The day temperature in Jabalpur dropped by 8.3 degrees and reached 17.2 degrees. Similarly, a temperature of 17.6 degrees was recorded in Sidhi with a drop of 6 degrees. The day temperature was 18 degrees in Umaria, 18 degrees in Damoh, 18.6 degrees in Gwalior, 16.6 degrees in Datia, 20.2 degrees in Bhopal, 21.9 degrees in Indore, 20 degrees in Tikamgarh.
There will be some relief from Monday
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be relief from fog in other areas except the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. There will be severe winter in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Jabalpur areas, but there will be slight relief from fog. However, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Sheopur, Shivpuri, Morena, Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj. There is a possibility of dense fog here.
