Jaipur. A standard core library of cores obtained during drilling will be prepared in the mines and geology sector in the state. Shri T. Ravikant, Principal Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, gave these instructions in the meeting of Rajasthan State Mineral Exploration RSMET. He said that Rajasthan is the hub state of minerals. In such a situation, a core library with modern resources should be prepared for timely analysis of cores available during mineral exploration, drilling etc. and for storage of available core samples according to scientific methods and latest technology. T. Ravikant directed that a team of three officers of the department be sent this month to study the Nagpur Core Library of Mineral Exploration Corporation. Along with this, an outline for creating a core library should be prepared by analyzing other techniques and systems for core preservation so that the core obtained during drilling can be maintained scientifically. He said that the core samples are useful not only for today but also for the future, hence it is necessary to create a better cataloged core library of them. While giving instructions to speed up the exploration work in the state, T. Ravikant clearly said that it is necessary to promote legal mining to stop illegal mining activities. In such a situation, an SOP for the work ranging from exploration, drilling, analysis report of samples etc. will be prepared and a detailed guide line will be issued, in which the time limit and responsibilities will also be fixed.
