Raipur : State Commerce, Industry and Labor Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, while addressing the program organized in Korba today, said that the role of our Swachhta Didis is very important in the cleanliness of the city, hence it should always be the endeavor of all of us to provide them with the necessary facilities for carrying out their work. He said that I am extremely happy that our Swachhta Didis are receiving 80 pieces of e-rickshaws today and are being used in the work of door-to-door waste collection. With the use of e-rickshaws, the labor and time of the sanitation workers will be saved and they will be able to complete their work with less effort and in less time.
Industries Minister Lakhanlal Devangan made statements to this effect in the program of distribution of e-rickshaws to the sanitation sisters of Municipal Corporation Korba. Municipal Corporation Korba, taking concrete action towards further strengthening the cleanliness system of the city, has purchased 80 e-rickshaws approved from the District Mineral Trust for door-to-door waste collection at a cost of Rs 2 crore 84 lakh and these are to be included in its sanitation resource fleet. Today, Industries Minister Dewangan distributed all these 80 e-rickshaws to the Swachhta Didis and gave them his best wishes.
While addressing the Swachhta Didis, Industries Minister Dewangan further said that due to your hard work and dedication, Korba’s cleanliness is getting a strong foundation and because of you, Korba has reached 08th position in the field of cleanliness in the country, now it is the turn to move ahead, Korba has come at number 01 in the Swachh Survekshan in the country, I give my best wishes for this.
The program was presided over by Mayor Sanjudevi Rajput, while Chairman Nutan Singh Thakur, Commissioner Ashutosh Pandey along with Mayor-in-Council members, Councilors etc. of the Corporation were present with dignity as special guests of the programme. Industries Minister Dewangan further said in his address given on this occasion that the country’s successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi put the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in front of all of us by running the Swachh Bharat Mission in the country, this brought widespread public awareness towards cleanliness and the common people became aware of cleanliness. He said that toilets were constructed in crores of families of the country under the Swachh Bharat Mission and historic changes took place in the field of cleanliness.
On this occasion, Mayor Sanjudevi Rajput said in her address that due to the hard work of our Swachhta Didis, our Korba has got pride at the national level and in the last Swachh Survekshan it reached number 08 in the country, we are confident that in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan we will reach number 01 in the country. The godlike citizens of the corporation area should get better facilities like cleanliness, street lighting, drinking water supply, road drains etc. and they should not have to face unnecessary trouble for these basic facilities.
