Raipur : Late organized under Raipur Press Club Khel Madai 2026. Electronic United XI won the title of Kuldeep Nigam Memorial Inter Press Cricket Tournament.
In the closing ceremony, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma said that sports is not only a medium of competition but also a powerful medium to strengthen mutual harmony, discipline and team spirit. He said that journalists are the mirror of the society and when they enter the playing field, the message of healthy competition and positive energy reaches the society. He congratulated the organizing committee for successfully organizing the event and expressed his expectation of organizing such events continuously in future also.
In the final played at Netaji Subhash Stadium, Vistaar News won the toss and batted first and scored 60 runs in 12 overs. In reply, United Electronic XI achieved the target in 7.1 overs. The innings of Hemant Dongre (14 runs), Tilak Sahu (12 runs) and Laxman Lekhwani (17 runs) led the team to victory. Hemant Dongre was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance, while Sanjay Singhdev received the Player of the Series award for his excellent play throughout the tournament.
Captain of the winning team, Mohan Tiwari, received the trophy along with a symbolic check of Rs 51,000 and the gold medal. The runner-up team was awarded a check of Rs 41,000 and a silver medal. S. was the runner up in the semi-finals. Jarno and IBC 24 teams were given symbolic checks of Rs 21,000 each and bronze medals.
In the entire tournament, Ravi Miri was awarded the best batsman, Rishi Netam was awarded the best bowler, Lavinder Pal Singh was awarded the best fielder and Mukesh Daryab was awarded the best catcher. Pramod Mishra, Yogesh Mishra and Sandeep Pradhan, who scored centuries, were awarded “Shatak Veer” trophy and 10 players were awarded “Ardhshak Veer” trophy.
On this occasion, Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Sanjay Srivastava, Youth Commission Chairman Vishwa Pratap Tomar, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Pankaj Jha, State Information Commission member Shirish Mishra and many senior journalists and distinguished citizens were present.
Organizing Committee Chairman Mohan Tiwari said that other sports competitions will also be organized under Khel Madai 2026 and indoor games will start soon after cricket. The sportsmanship and mutual cordiality of the journalists was appreciated throughout the event.
