
Considering the problems of passengers amid Indigo crisis, the government has taken action. The government has imposed a fare cap. Now the maximum fare has been fixed for every maximum distance. Airlines will now not be able to charge more than Rs 18 thousand as fare. Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya’s statement has also come on the matter. He said that the government has taken the decision due to the continuous irregularities of Indigo Airlines.
‘Indigo has been given time, correct its shortcomings immediately’
Kailash Vijayvargiya said, ‘The government has taken the matter very seriously. Time has been given to Indigo Airlines. Within that time, whatever shortcomings of Indigo should be fulfilled. The government has given clear instructions that all the arrangements should be improved within the stipulated time.
Considering the problems of passengers, the government implemented fare cap
The Aviation Ministry has issued instructions amid the Indigo crisis. It has been instructed that under no circumstances will collection of fare from passengers be accepted in an arbitrary or opportunistic manner. In this regard, the Ministry has implemented fare cap on all the affected routes. Now airlines will not be able to charge fares more than the prescribed limit.
The government has fixed the maximum fare at Rs 7.5 for up to 500 kilometres, Rs 12 thousand for 500 to 1000 kilometres, Rs 15 thousand for 1000 to 1500 kilometers and Rs 18 thousand for distances more than 1500 kilometres. Due to which now airlines companies will not be able to make arbitrary recovery at the time of disaster.
