Raipur : Farmers of the state are becoming economically prosperous by using modern agricultural equipment in farming. At the same time, we are moving towards the vision of developed India. It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation is providing modern agricultural equipment to the farmers on subsidy, of which a large number of farmers are taking benefit. Taking advantage of various schemes of the government, farmers are adopting advanced and modern methods of farming, due to which farmers are getting more benefits than traditional farming.
Modern and advanced agricultural equipment to farmers on government subsidy
Agriculture Department officials said that various types of schemes are being run by the state government in the field of agriculture from which farmers are continuously benefiting, be it improved seeds or other departmental schemes. In the same sequence, various types of modern and advanced agricultural equipment are made available to the farmers on government subsidy by the Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation in the interest of the farmers. Agricultural equipment is made available to the farmers on a grant basis for all the stages of farming like ploughing, sowing, transplanting, harvesting etc. on selection basis, this has increased the production capacity. The Seed Corporation is providing farmers with power-driven agricultural equipment like rotavator, self-propelled reaper, paddy transplanter, laser land leveler, power weeder, mulcher, thresher, seed drill and other modern agricultural equipment on subsidy.
Crop quality improved with the use of modern agricultural equipment.
By using these agricultural equipment, farmers are saving time as well as reducing labor costs. Farmers say that with the use of modern equipment, farming work is being done in less time and in a more precise manner, due to which the quality of the crop has improved. As a result, they are getting better prices for their produce in the market and their economic condition is getting strengthened.
882 farmers benefited from agricultural equipment on subsidy
Let us tell you that the objective of Seed Corporation is to make farmers self-reliant by connecting them with modern technology. The corporation is implementing a scheme to provide agricultural equipment on subsidy as per the needs of the farmers. Due to which sustainable development is being promoted in the agricultural sector.
So far in the year 2025-26, 882 farmers have benefited from agricultural equipment on subsidy.
Easy harvesting with self-propelled reaper
Farmer Narayan Dallu Patel of Bilaspur district acquired a self-propelled reaper on grant through the Seed Corporation. He told that earlier it used to take 10-12 laborers and a whole day to harvest one acre crop, whereas now the same work is completed in 2-3 hours. This has reduced the harvesting cost by 50-60 percent and timely harvesting has become possible.
Field preparation speeded up with Rotavator
Farmer Hiralal Sahu of Raipur district said that with the use of rotavator, the field is plowed in one go. Where earlier it took 3-4 days to prepare the field, now the work is completed in a few hours. Due to this, crop production has increased by 20-25 percent.
Seed saving and better production through seed drill
Farmer Lekhuram Chhedaiya of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district has purchased seed drill machine on grant. He told that by using this machine in sowing, 15-25 percent seed is saved. Sowing at the same distance and depth improved germination and increased production by 20-30 percent.
