Bhopal : Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha said that MP Agro is an important agency working for the Agriculture and Horticulture Department of the state government. MP Agro has been made the nodal agency for many schemes by the Horticulture Department. There is a need to make its work more effective. Minister Kushwaha was addressing the meeting of the Board of Directors of MP Agro State Agro Development Corporation at Panchanan Bhawan on Monday.
Minister Kushwaha said that the responsibility of developing the cluster has also been given to MP Agro by the Horticulture Department through the National Horticulture Board. Farmers should be provided with improved quality seeds. He said that to increase the income of Babai Agricultural Farm located in Narmadapuram district, the production of potatoes and other vegetables along with wheat should be increased.
Additional Chief Secretary Horticulture and Food Processing Anupam Rajan said that MP Agro should prepare better projects by taking the services of Agro specialized agencies instead of the traditional process. With this, the farmers of the state will get maximum benefits.
Commissioner Horticulture and Food Processing Arvind Dubey said that new experiments are being done for MP Agro to grow its business. Better results are being achieved. The follow-up report of the 200th meeting was also presented in the meeting. Departmental officers and members of the Board of Directors were present in the meeting.
