Income tax officers arrived posing as wedding guests, raids on the premises of former Congress MLA

Chhattarpur: Income Tax Department team raided the premises of former Chhattarpur MLA Alok Chaturvedi and his partner Rao Saheb. The search action started on Wednesday morning at his two establishments and continued till late night.

Income Tax Department teams had reached Khajuraho Minerals stone factory near Dhadari on Sagar Kanpur National Highway and the ballast factory located on Ramanpura Road. The teams reached the factories from Gwalior with a convoy of a dozen vehicles and as soon as they reached, the gates of both the locations were closed, so that no one could go in or out. Along with this, mobile phones of some people were also switched off. The special thing about the raid was that the Income Tax Department team had come to conduct the raid disguised as a wedding procession. Due to which people did not understand the whole matter.

More than 50 officials of the Income Tax Department reached the former MLA’s residence along with the team at around 11 am on Wednesday morning and started action simultaneously in both his establishments. During this, former MLA Alok Chaturvedi and his partner Rao Saheb were interrogated at length by the Income Tax officials. Many people from his staff were also present during the interrogation. The team from Gwalior interrogated the former MLA and his business partner Ajaypal Singh Rao Saheb regarding financial transactions, mine operation and production.

Vehicles with wedding stickers raided

Actually, the daughter of former Chhatarpur MLA Alok Chaturvedi was married to Rishikesh 3 days ago. During the action, the Income Tax Department used Innova vehicles with marriage stickers on them, so that no one could have any doubt.

What did the former MLA say?

Whereas former MLA Alok Chaturvedi says, “I and people associated with me are being harassed for political reasons. There is no wrongdoing here, all the records are clear. We also pay the highest taxes. Politics of pressure on the opposition is going on at every level in the country, but we are not afraid of it.”
