Islamabad. The health condition of jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan is worrying. His son Qasim Khan has alleged that the Pakistan government is deliberately blocking the visa applications of him and his elder brother Suleman, due to which they are not able to go to Pakistan to meet their father. Qasim wrote in the post that his father has been kept in solitary confinement for 914 days, where his health is deteriorating and he has been deprived of independent medical care. He described it as collective punishment by depriving prisoners of medical treatment and depriving children of the right to visit their fathers.
According to the report, the matter came to light after the government confirmed the transfer of Imran Khan to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). On the other hand, Imran’s party PTI termed the transfer as a secret and accused the officials of keeping the family and party leadership in the dark and preventing them from meeting private doctors. Opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai also appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the National Assembly to allow Imran to be medically examined by his trusted physicians. Let us tell you that Qasim and Suleman are currently living in London with their mother Jemima Goldsmith. He said that he had applied for a visa in December 2025 and had planned to come to Pakistan in January, but now the authorities have refused to issue the visa. This has further increased concerns regarding access to Imran Khan and his treatment. Meanwhile, Imran’s son Qasim has appealed to the international community to immediately intervene to protect Imran’s health and human rights so that he can be helped before he suffers irreversible damage. The entire situation is being seen as a political and human rights crisis in Pakistan, as there has been widespread concern over the former prime minister’s health problems and restrictions on his access to his family.
