Gwalior A part of a reception gate being built by Smart City in Gwalior suddenly collapsed. This incident happened near Jhansi-Agra Highway bridge in front of Maharajpura on Bhind Road. There was no pedestrian or vehicle present at the spot at the time of the accident, due to which there was no loss of life. This welcome gate is being built on the road entering Gwalior from Bhind side. Let us tell you that it was being prepared as a replica of the historical fort of Gwalior, the purpose of which was to show the identity and pride of the city.
Welcome gate collapsed during construction work
The construction of this gate is costing approximately Rs 2 crores. This incident happened during construction work. Excavation work was going on near the gate, when a JCB tractor collided with the wall. The collision was so strong that a part of the welcome gate got damaged and fell down, while some part remained stuck to the wall.
There was no loss of life in the accident
Let us tell you that currently the construction work of this gate is going on. Vehicular traffic continues on this road day and night. Vehicles coming from Bhind Road and going from Gwalior pass through this route, including two-wheelers, four-wheelers and goods vehicles. There was no vehicle or pedestrian passing by at the time of the accident, hence there was no loss of life. Otherwise this accident could have taken a bigger turn.
Gwalior Collector ordered investigation
Gwalior Collector Ruchika Chauhan and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sangh Priya reached the spot and took stock. Also, orders have been given to investigate the matter. Let us tell you that there are four entry gates in Gwalior city. Four gates are being built at a cost of Rs 2 crore each. This is one of the dream projects of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. These gates were being constructed according to the historical heritage and culture of the city.
