Bhopal : The period of bone-chilling cold continues in Madhya Pradesh. Along with severe cold, dense fog is also being seen in many districts of the state, due to which traffic is being affected in many cities and on national and state highways. The lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius in Shivpuri on the intervening night of Thursday-Friday. While Indore stood second in terms of cold, the minimum temperature here was recorded at 4.1 degrees Celsius. Here on Friday morning, dense fog was seen in the districts of Vindhya, Chambal and Mahakaushal.
Zero visibility in these districts
In many districts of Madhya Pradesh, visibility has reached near zero, which means that due to fog, it has become difficult to even see a person standing nearby. In Madhya Pradesh, the maximum impact of fog was in the districts of Vindhya and Chambal divisions. Zero visibility was recorded in other districts including Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Datia and Shahdol. Visibility was recorded from 200 meters to 1000 meters in Niwari, Panna, Tikamgarh, Bhind, Morena, Jabalpur and other districts.
Visibility was recorded at 4 kilometers in Bhopal, Ujjain, Damoh, Rajgarh and Umaria. For Saturday morning also, the Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert of fog in 13 districts of Vindhya and Gwalior Chambal divisions.
7 degrees Celsius drop in Shivpuri in 24 hours
In Madhya Pradesh, the maximum cold was recorded in Shivpuri last night. Here, a drop of 7 degrees Celsius was recorded in the minimum temperature in the last 24 hours. Cold day has also been recorded here. The minimum temperature of Shivupari was recorded 4.5 degrees Celsius below the average. There was severe cold wave in Indore and cold wave in Shajapur also. The minimum temperature of Indore was recorded 6.6 degrees Celsius below the average, while the minimum temperature of Shajapar was 4 degrees Celsius below the average.
Due to this the minimum temperature is falling rapidly
Meteorologist Divya E Surendran said, ”A Western Disturbance is active in the form of an upper cyclone circulation at a height of 5.8 km above sea level in and around south-west Iran. Along with this, a new Western Disturbance is active in the form of another Upper Cyclone Circulation at a height of 3.1 km above sea level in and around Jammu. Jet stream winds are blowing at a speed of 195 kilometers at a height of 12.6 kilometers above sea level over North India, due to which icy winds are coming from the hilly areas to Madhya Pradesh and due to this the minimum temperature is falling.
The weather will remain like this for the next 5 days
Senior meteorologist Arun Sharma said, “In the months of December and January, there is a continuous movement of Western Disturbances. Due to this effect, when jet stream winds blow, the minimum temperature drops rapidly. There will be no significant change in the weather for the next 5 days. The cold wave will continue in the state, while the effect of fog will be visible in other districts of the state in the coming days.
Red and orange alert with fog in 12 districts on Saturday morning
The Meteorological Department has issued red and orange alerts for more than 12 districts and cities of Madhya Pradesh. The temperature will continuously go below 10 degrees Celsius and the cold in these cities will break its old records. Weather experts have put these cities on red and orange alert for the next several days. The temperature here can remain between 5 to 6 degrees. In such a situation, red and orange alert warnings have been issued. The cities which will be most affected by the cold wave include 1.) Gwalior, 2.) Morena, 3.) Datia, 4.) Niwari, 5.) Tikamgarh, 6.) Chhatarpur, 7.) Panna, 8.) Satna, 9.) Rewa, 10.) Mauganj, 11.) Sidhi, 12.) Singrauli. Apart from this, cold will also show its glory in Indore and Shahdol.
