Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy CM and NCP Chief Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash on Wednesday. He was going from Mumbai to Baramati for the civic election rally. His plane crashed while landing at Baramati airport. Six people including Ajit Pawar died in the plane crash. Even in July 2024, Ajit Pawar almost became a victim of an air accident. He was going to Gadchiroli for the inauguration of a steel project.

Devendra Fadnavis and Uday Samant were also in the helicopter with him. His journey of one hour was not easy at all. The heartbeats of these people were increasing all the way. When his helicopter was flying over Nagpur. Then the helicopter got entangled in the dense clouds and lost its way. Because visibility was very poor due to clouds. However, the pilot skillfully found a way through the clouds and made a safe landing.

During this time, Ajit Pawar was looking very worried and was continuously looking out of the window. However, Devendra Fadnavis was calm during that time. Because he had narrowly escaped such accidents six times before. He had given courage to Pawar. Pawar later shared his experience in the program, ‘Uday Samant had asked me to look outside towards the landing site. Only when I saw him from the window did I feel relieved.

18 months after that accident, Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in Baramati. During landing, his ‘Learjet 45XR’ plane lost control and crashed. Apart from Ajit Pawar, his personal security officer, attendant, and two crew members, a pilot-in-command and a second-in-command were on board the plane. All of them died in the accident. Fadnavis described Pawar’s death in the plane crash as ‘unbelievable’ and said he had lost a good friend. He said that Pawar’s death has left a void which can never be filled. He further said that it is difficult to believe that he is no more.
