New Delhi . During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army had shot down dozens of Turkish-made Yiha drones. On Monday, the Indian Army exhibited a rebuilt model of this Yiha drone. These drones were shot down by the Army on May 10 during Operation Sindoor. On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, multi-role Kamikaze class drones were demonstrated in an event organized by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. During the conflict between India and Pakistan that lasted from May 7 to 10, the Pakistani Army used a large number of Yiha drones. The Pakistani Army used these unmanned combat aerial vehicles to target various Indian military and civilian installations, although the Indian Army shot down almost all the drones. Indian Army officials said that the Yiha drone displayed at the event was flying at an altitude of 2000 meters on May 10. He told that it was launched from Lahore International Airport and its destination was Jalandhar. He said the drone carrying 10 kg of explosive material was shot down by the Indian Army’s air defense system. This remote-controlled drone was designed to explode as soon as it hits the target.
