Let us tell you, according to the government report, within the last two years, about 5,000 doctors, 11 thousand engineers and 13,000 accountants have migrated from Pakistan to other countries. Because of which the country is going through a brain drain. The biggest reason for this has been the deteriorating economy and political instability. Ever since this report became public, Army Chief Asim Munir is being criticized a lot.

24 lakh jobs in danger

Regarding government data on social media, former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar wrote on ‘X’, “Pakistan is the world’s largest freelancing hub, but the country is facing a loss of 16.2 million dollars due to internet shutdown. Due to which about 24 lakh freelancing jobs are at risk.” Regarding the statements made by Munir, he advised that if you fix the politics then the economy will improve.

More than 14 lakh people migrated in 2 years

This report from Pakistan has created concern. According to the report, by November 2025, about 6.87 lakh people have registered for jobs abroad. Whereas, last year in 2024, more than 7.27 lakh people had registered. That means the increasing figures of the last two years are worrying for Pakistan. This is not only limited to laborers or people going to earn money in Gulf countries, but it also includes highly educated and talented people who are continuously leaving the country.

Munir became a joke on social media

The figures have raised a new issue of debate on social media. Asim Munir is on target, because just a few months ago, while addressing the Pakistani immigrants in America, he rejected the notion of ‘brain drain’ regarding the migration of the country’s educated youth and skilled professionals and called it ‘brain gain’. Now this statement is being criticized a lot. People on social media said that the government cannot reduce migration by showing any kind of strictness, the government needs to provide good opportunities to stop brain drain.
