Petrol Diesel Price Today: The prices of petrol and diesel in the country are reviewed daily at 6 am. Many major oil marketing companies set new rates based on international crude oil prices, exchange rate of rupee against dollar and other global and domestic economic factors.
On February 8, prices of petrol and diesel remained stable in most major cities. Only minor changes were recorded in some areas, but no significant increase or decrease was observed on a large scale. In Delhi, petrol remains at Rs 94.77 per liter and diesel at Rs 87.67 per liter. The budget is going to be presented before the Lok Sabha elections, hence this stability in fuel prices has brought great relief to the common consumers.
Petrol prices in major metros
Petrol is still available at Rs 94.77 per liter in the country’s capital New Delhi. This rate is Rs 103.54 per liter in the financial capital Mumbai, Rs 105.41 in Kolkata and Rs 100.80 per liter in Chennai. In major cities of North India, petrol is being sold at Rs 95.50 per liter in Gurgaon, Rs 95.16 in Noida, Rs 94.69 in Lucknow and Rs 104.62 in Jaipur.
In South India, petrol is priced at Rs 102.92 per liter in Bengaluru, Rs 107.50 in Hyderabad and Rs 101.03 per liter in Bhubaneswar. In Patna of the eastern region the rate is Rs 105.43 while in Thiruvananthapuram the rate is Rs 107.48 per litre. It is clear from these figures that petrol is becoming costlier in southern and eastern cities compared to other areas.
What is the rate of diesel?
Talking about diesel, it is at Rs 87.67 per liter in Delhi. The rate of Rs 90.03 per liter is applicable in Mumbai, Rs 92.02 in Kolkata and Rs 92.39 per liter in Chennai. Diesel is available at Rs 87.97 in Gurgaon, Rs 88.31 in Noida, Rs 90.99 in Bengaluru and Rs 92.60 per liter in Bhubaneswar.
Chandigarh is proving to be the cheapest in North India in terms of diesel, where it is available at only Rs 82.45 per liter. The rate per liter is Rs 95.70 in Hyderabad, Rs 90.12 in Jaipur, Rs 87.81 in Lucknow, Rs 91.67 in Patna and Rs 96.48 in Thiruvananthapuram.
