Indore | Devotees from all over the country and the world have faith in Khajrana Ganesh Temple of Indore. People come from far and wide to have darshan and receive blessings. Devotees donate generously in the court of Lord Ganesha, a symbol of reverence. This time there has been heavy ‘dhan varsha’ in the temple, which has broken the records of many previous times. Rs 1 crore 78 lakh have come out from the donation boxes of the temple.
Gold, silver and foreign currency were also found
Every year donation boxes are opened thrice in Khajrana Ganesh Temple. Last time donation boxes were opened in the month of August, during which Rs 1 crore 68 lakh were received. When the donation boxes were opened in the month of December, all records were broken and the temple received Rs 1 crore 78 lakh. 43 donation boxes have been installed in the temple complex area. During counting of offerings in the donation box, gold and silver along with foreign currency were found.
According to the temple management committee, the counting process of donation amount was done under the strict surveillance of CCTV. Video recording is also done. According to the report of Dainik Bhaskar, Temple Committee Manager Ghanshyam Shukla said that the amount received from donation boxes has been deposited in PNB and Union Bank accounts. The value of gold, silver and foreign currency is being converted and assessed.
Expired notes received as donations
This time many surprising offerings were found in the donation boxes of Khajrana Ganesh Temple. Apart from fake notes, mobile phones were also found. Apart from this, fake gold and silver jewelery and demonetised Rs 2000 and Rs 500 notes were also found.
Goddess Ahilyabai had built the temple
Goddess Ahilyabai Holkar had built the famous Ganesh temple located in Khajrana in the year 1735. Devotees from all over the country and abroad come to this temple for darshan. A large crowd of devotees is seen in the temple every Wednesday. This temple is known for its historical and religious beliefs. Devotees believe that every wish made here is fulfilled.
