New Delhi: While an increase in corruption cases has been seen in Europe and America, in India there has been a decline in corruption cases in 2025 as compared to 2024. This has been revealed in a report by Global Transparency. According to the report, India’s score has improved in 2025. Now India ranks 91st in terms of corruption worldwide. According to Global Transparency, Denmark is the only country in the world which has the least number of corruption cases. South Sudan and Somalia are the most corrupt countries in the world. Global Transparency has released this report covering 180 countries of the world.
In the report released on corruption, there are only 7 countries whose score is more than 80. Corruption has spread in European countries. There has been a decline in the scores of countries like Britain, France, Italy. Only in Germany has there been a decline in corruption cases. Britain is out of the list of top-20 countries.
America’s score has also declined. That too, when President Donald Trump is talking about ending corruption from the roots. In 2024, America’s rank in terms of corruption in the world was 28, which has now become 29. Despite all the efforts, there has been no reduction in corruption cases in China. China’s score is 43 as before. In terms of corruption, China ranks 76th.
In 2023, India was ranked 93rd in terms of corruption. In 2024, it recorded a decline of one point. Now India has reached 91st position. India’s score is 39. Overall, India’s ranking in corruption cases has seen an improvement over the last three years. However, detailed information as to why and how this improvement took place has not been given. Not only this, India is still far behind the countries of the world in terms of ending corruption. Because a score of 39 in the corruption index is considered very dangerous.
