Umaria: A major action has been taken in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on Thursday, in which about 15 acres of government land of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve has been made encroachment free. For this, a special action plan has been prepared and immediate action has been taken. This action of the administration has created panic among the illegal encroachers. At the same time, this is being considered a big action of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve to free the government forest land from encroachment.

15 acres of forest land encroached upon, bulldozer used heavily

This action has been taken under the guidance of Field Director and Deputy Director in compartment PF 339 of Kuchwahi beat under Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Forest Department Manpur team took action to remove extensive encroachment, under which bulldozers and JCB were used on Thursday. Taking action at a total of 9 places, about 15 acres of government forest land was freed from encroachment.

Some did farming on forest land, some did fencing.

When the team of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve took this action, during this time such land of Forest Department also came to light, in which the occupier had even done illegal farming. At the same time, some also tried to make the forest land cultivable to throw dust in the eyes of the administration, which was stopped in time. At some places even seeds were sown for sowing crops. At many places, forest land was also surrounded by fencing, wire fencing and huts, which were removed by the departmental team using bulldozers.

During the action, everything from fencing wires to everything used in encroachment was confiscated. At the same time, along with breaking the illegal construction, a trench was made with JCB in the seed sowing area. Even the pipes laid for irrigation were confiscated by the Forest Department.

Forest department keeping an eye on every nook and corner, action will continue

During the campaign, some criminal elements also tried to dispute with the administration and the forest department, in connection with which the Manpur Ranger has also lodged a report at the lock post. Regarding this entire action, Deputy Director of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve PK Verma said, “Any kind of illegal encroachment, ploughing, or farming activity is completely banned in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve area. The department is continuously monitoring the area and such strict action will continue in the future also.”

  • Meanwhile, Manpur Ranger Mukesh Ahirwar said, “The forest of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve area is being continuously monitored, similar actions will continue against the encroachments, hence the encroachment has been removed.”
