BSP Political Challenges : Once again in the news, because the support base of Bahujan Samajwadi Party is continuously shrinking. The position of the party which held power in Uttar Pradesh for many years seems very weak today. First in the UP Assembly, then in the Lok Sabha and now in the Rajya Sabha, the presence of BSP is almost going to end. At present, BSP has only one MLA in UP, the party could not even open its account in the Lok Sabha and only one MP is left in the Rajya Sabha.

BSP’s only Rajya Sabha MP is Ramji Gautam, whose term ends in November 2026. After this, this will be the first time that BSP will not have any representative in either of the two houses of Parliament. Ramji Gautam had reached Rajya Sabha with the support of BJP in the year 2019, but after his retirement, the chances of BSP’s return to Parliament are considered very weak.

The tenure of a total of 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from Uttar Pradesh is ending in 2026. These include BJP’s Seema Dwivedi, Brijlal, Hardeep Singh Puri, Chandraprabha alias Geeta, Neeraj Shekhar, Arun Singh, Dinesh Sharma and BL Verma. Apart from this, Ram Gopal Yadav from SP and Ramji Gautam from BSP are also in this list.

If we look at the current political equations BSP Political Challenges And look deeper. To win a Rajya Sabha seat in UP, the support of 37 MLAs is required. Of the 402 assembly seats, BJP has 258 MLAs, while BSP has only 1 MLA. In this situation, 8 Rajya Sabha MPs can be formed from BJP and 2 from SP, but BSP does not seem to be in a position to win even a single seat under any circumstances.
