Indore | A hearing was held in the Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday (31 December) in the case of contaminated water in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The High Court has sought a detailed report from the state government. Along with this, orders have been given to provide completely free treatment to the sick in 10 hospitals. A PIL was presented in the High Court on behalf of Ritesh Inani, President of the High Court Bar Association.

Umang Singhar demanded a high level investigation

Assembly opposition leader Umang Singhar has written a letter to CM Mohan Yadav demanding a high-level investigation. In the letter, he wrote that 8 people died due to drinking dirty water in Bhagirathpura Colony of Indore city and the people affected by the contaminated water are being treated. This number is continuously increasing, there is a need to prevent it as soon as possible so that immediate treatment is available to the affected people and contaminated water should not be supplied under any circumstances.

He further wrote that the matter is of a serious nature, an immediate investigation should be conducted and action should be taken against the culprits and compensation should be provided to the affected people immediately.

CM Mohan Yadav will go to Indore

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is keeping an eye on this entire matter. CM will go to Indore on Wednesday evening. Will meet the victims admitted in the hospital. Along with this, one can also meet the family members of the deceased.

Committee formed to investigate the matter

So far 8 people have died due to drinking contaminated water in Bhagirathpura, Indore. Taking cognizance of this matter, the CM had ordered action against the responsible officials. After this, zonal officer Shaligram Shitole and in-charge Assistant Engineer (PHE) Yogesh Joshi have been suspended and the deputy engineer in-charge has been dismissed. Along with this, a three-member committee has been formed. This committee consists of IAS Navjeevan Panwar, Superintendent Engineer Pradeep Nigam and Dr. Shailesh Rai, Associate Professor of Medical College.

Announcement of financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each

CM has announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased. Financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each will be given to the family members. Water has been supplied to the affected area through 50 tankers. At the same time, helpline number 7440440511 has been issued for any kind of help.
