Balodabazar. In the case of rape of a minor, the court has taken a tough stance and awarded harsh punishment to both the culprits. In this serious case related to Bhatapara rural police station area, the Additional Sessions Judge has punished the accused and his associate, who kidnapped and repeatedly raped a minor, with 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fine. This decision gives a strong message against such crimes in the society.
The case started from missing person
Special Public Prosecutor Sanjay Bajpayee said that the victim’s father had lodged a report at Bhatapara Rural police station on August 11, 2024. He told that his minor daughter had left home on August 10 morning saying she was going to school, but did not return. Despite searching everywhere by the family members, when no information was found, the police registered a missing person case and started investigating the possibility of kidnapping.
Big revelation made in investigation
Investigating Officer Assistant Sub Inspector Pushpa Rathore, during the investigation, recovered the victim from the possession of accused Dushyant Tandon on 2 September 2024 from the house of co-accused Kuldeep Manhare in village Nayapara. During interrogation, the victim told that the accused lured her away on the pretext of marriage and kept her in a friend’s house and had physical relations with her.

After thorough investigation, medical examination and statement of witnesses, the challan was presented in the court. During the hearing the prosecution demanded harsher punishment. On the basis of evidence, Additional Sessions Judge Satish Kumar Jaiswal convicted both the accused under sections of the POCSO Act and sentenced them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. This decision is being considered an example of justice in the case of rape of a minor.
