Bhopal: Wonders one after the other are being seen in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The first wonder was the 90 degree bridge, which remained a topic of discussion for a long time, but now another new wonder has emerged. The high voltage tower installed in the middle of the road in Vinayak Colony of Karond area of Bhopal has become a big problem for the people.
The way the tower has been erected in the middle of the road, both its height and length are short, due to which there is difficulty in the movement of large vehicles. Due to the danger of electric current, residents are forced to live a life of fear. Residents say that it becomes very scary to go through this road during rainy days.
Residents say that passing under the high voltage tower becomes even more dangerous during the rainy season. The high voltage line passing above and the fear of electric current always present below creates fear among people. Common people claim that every year one or two people die here due to electrocution, but despite this the responsible departments are not taking any concrete action.
Local people said that this problem has persisted for about 20 years. In such a long time, neither the road was properly constructed nor this deadly high voltage tower was removed. Residents say that despite complaining several times, no solution has been found till now, due to which resentment towards the administration is increasing among the people.
In this matter, BJP spokesperson Ajay Singh Yadav says that this matter has come to his notice at present. The matter is being investigated by the department. Whatever solution there is, it will be done. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shahryar Khan says that the MP government is setting new records in engineering. First the 90 degree bridge and now this tower. The government should immediately take action on this.
Let us tell you that earlier the 90 degree bridge in Aishbagh area of Bhopal was in the news. The 648 meter long and 8.5 meter wide Railway Overbridge (ROB), which cost around ₹18 crore, was in the news due to its dangerous 90-degree sharp turn. This bridge, built in 2025, remained in controversies due to safety risks and design flaws, due to which action was taken against the engineers associated with its construction.
