New Delhi. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on Wednesday issued guidelines for alliance with the Congress and other parties as the state goes to the polls later this year. Stalin has categorically rejected any form of shared governance with DMK’s allies like the Congress. Recently, some leaders within the Congress had raised the demand for ministerial posts in the DMK-led government. Stalin said the power-sharing arrangement was not suitable for Tamil Nadu.
According to media reports, Stalin said that the demand for share in governance does not apply to Tamil Nadu. They know it better than us. This slogan is a well-planned conspiracy by those who cannot see us united. Tamil Nadu CM indicated that Congress will remain an ally if elections are held in the state. He said that our alliance is cordial. The media is deliberately creating some unnecessary assumptions.
CM Stalin described his relationship with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as an important element of the continued alliance between the two parties. Rahul Gandhi has played a leading role in reducing tensions in the alliance by talking to DMK leader Kanimozhi so that the Congress remains with the DMK. Stalin said that Rahul Gandhi is like my brother, he is a member of my family. He himself has said many times that our relationship is beyond politics. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President Selva Perunthagai had also indicated that the DMK-Congress alliance is final and formal seat sharing talks will begin from February 22.
He said that the DMK led alliance is a very strong alliance. The public has already proved that this government will continue. We have no doubt about continuing to win. Everything is going well. The alliance talks to be held on 22nd will be concluded successfully.
