Raipur : Every day brought a new challenge for Rania Bai’s family, which once lived by begging and daily wage labour. This family, living in Gram Panchayat Garhtar under Baikunthpur development block of Korea district, was living in a mud hut, facing the ravages of the weather. When Rania Bai along with her husband Avtar Sai started getting employment in unskilled labor under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, there was some relief, but the dream of permanent residence was still far away.
Circumstances changed when they got assistance for a pucca house under ‘Pradhanmantri Janman Yojana’, run on the visionary initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. With the help of Gram Panchayat and his own hard work, he built a new permanent house. They now have safe accommodation and toilet facilities. Rania Bai tells that rainy nights are now spent in peace and not in worry. Confidence has also awakened in the minds of children regarding their future. Not just housing, but regular food grains through Antyodaya ration cards and health protection under the Ayushman Bharat scheme have given stability to their lives. Apart from this, the benefit of National Pension Scheme is also available.
By getting proper benefits of government schemes, a new chapter of hope, security and confidence has been added in the life of a destitute family.
