Raipur : With the aim of creating awareness about the schemes run by the state government for the welfare of workers, a workers’ public dialogue conference was organized on Thursday at the district auditorium located at the district headquarters Balodabazar. In the programme, an amount of more than Rs 1 crore 4 lakh was transferred to the accounts of the workers and their families through DBT under various schemes of the Labor Department.
More than one crore funds distributed under various schemes to 1242 workers
Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, the chief guest of the program, said that more than 31 programs and schemes are being run by the state government to make the workers and their families happy, information about which is important for all labor brothers and sisters, only then they will be able to avail the benefits of these schemes. This is the objective of the Workers’ Public Dialogue Conference. Praising the programme, he said that such programs play a meaningful role in extending the benefits of schemes to more and more labor brothers and sisters.
Labor Welfare Board Chairman Yogesh Dutt Mishra, who was presiding over the program, said in his address that the Central Government has taken a revolutionary step for the interests of the workers and decided to implement four new labor codes, which is certainly a big step towards strengthening the workers and their families economically and socially. He said that 45 percent of the country’s population are workers in the unorganized sector, without whose economic and social development the development of the country is not possible. In this context, this historic decision was taken. He explained in detail about the benefits of the four new labor codes implemented in the country – Wages Code, 2019, Social Security Code 2020, Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions or OSH Code 2020 and Industrial Relations Code 2020. According to the new labor laws, the national minimum wage will be fixed across the country. Once declared, states cannot fix wages lower than this. Told about the arrangements for safety and treatment of workers and their families, provident fund, etc. Appealing to the public representatives and workers who came to the program, he said that considering it as your moral responsibility, you all should motivate and make as many workers aware as possible to avail the benefits of departmental schemes, only then we will be able to realize the concept of developed Chhattisgarh and developed India.
Municipality President Ashok Jain said that the state government is continuously making efforts for the welfare of the workers who play an important role in development and construction. Kanchan Verma said that she has got the benefit of Noni Suraksha, due to which she is able to pursue her college studies. Bhagwan Dutt, a beneficiary of Cyan Sahayata Yojana, said that on completing 60 years of age, he got Rs 20 thousand, which helped him a lot. Similarly, Deepti Vishwakarma said that she got the benefit of Nunihal Scholarship Scheme. All the beneficiaries expressed gratitude towards the Chhattisgarh government.
In the programme, an amount of Rs 20,000 each was provided to 113 women of the district under Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana under Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, thus a total of Rs 22.60 lakh was provided under the scheme. Under the Chief Minister Naunihal Scholarship Scheme, Rs 19.43 lakh was given to 918 children, Rs 19.40 lakh were given to 97 elderly workers under the Chief Minister Shramik Siyaan Assistance Scheme, Rs 17.80 lakh were given to 89 girls under the Chief Minister Noni Empowerment Scheme, Rs 14 lakh under the Chief Minister Construction Workers Death and Disability Assistance Scheme, Rs 11 lakh under the Unorganized Workers Death and Disability Assistance Scheme under the Chhattisgarh Unorganized Workers State Social Security Board. Provided. In the Shramik Jan Samvad Sammelan, an amount of Rs 1 crore 4 lakh 23 thousand was distributed to a total of 1242 workers under various schemes.
There are more than 1 lakh workers registered in the district and 4 lakh more. Till now, an amount of more than Rs 90 crore has been provided to the workers under various schemes. District Panchayat President Akanksha Jaiswal, District Panchayat President Sulochana Yadav, State Vice President of Bharat Scout Guide Vijay Kesharwani and a large number of public representatives, Labor Department officials, employees and workers were present in the program.
