Ranchi: As Holi approaches, the crowd of travelers going out of Ranchi and coming here has increased. fresh Holi Special Train Update According to , most of the regular trains are full and seats have been reverted in many. At the same time, the fares for flights coming from metropolitan cities to Ranchi have almost doubled. In such a situation, the hopes of passengers are now pinned on Holi special trains.
Railway officials said that this year five Holi special trips each will be run from Ranchi to Jaynagar and Gorakhpur. Last year there were only two trips on these routes. Jaynagar special train will run via Bokaro, Chandrapura, Dhanbad, Darbhanga and Barauni. Gorakhpur special will go via Muri, Gomo, Koderma, Gaya and Banaras.
Apart from this, the service period of Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad via Ranchi Holi Special (02832/02831) has been increased from 28 February to 31 March and from 1 March to 1 April. A total of 32 trips will operate.
Holi Special Train Update: Long waiting and expensive flights
More than 200 waiting trains are running in many trains including Garib Rath (12878) and Anand Vihar-Hatia (12818). There is long waiting in Bengaluru-Hatia and Alleppey-Dhanbad also.
Between February 26 and March 2, Delhi-Ranchi flight fare has reached Rs 8500 to Rs 10500. The fare on Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai routes also ranges from Rs 10-14 thousand.
