Senior lawyer Anshul Raj becomes judge of Patna High Court

Patna. The President of India has appointed senior lawyer Anshul Raj as Judge of Patna High Court. In this regard, the Union Ministry of Law and Justice issued a notification on Friday evening. Born in 1971, senior advocate Anshul did his matriculation from Sir Ganesh Dutt Patliputra High School and intermediate science from Patna Science College. After graduating from Patna University, he completed his law degree (LLB) from Magadh University. Enrolled as an advocate in 2003, Justice (Designate) Anshul Raj initially started practice in the Supreme Court, where he was guided by senior advocate and retired acting CJ of Patna High Court, Nagendra Rai. In 2009, he shifted his practice to Patna High Court to help his father and senior lawyer Yogesh Chandra Verma and state government lawyer Arvind Ujjwal. Having equal command over matters of civil, constitutional and criminal law, he worked for some time as Standing Counsel of the Government of Bihar. He was designated as senior advocate of the Patna High Court on December 18, 2024, before he was recommended for appointment as a judge of the same High Court by the collegium on February 24 last year.
