Raipur : The government is continuously taking concrete steps towards strengthening the infrastructure in the state of Chhattisgarh. In this sequence, due to the continuous efforts of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister and Bhatgaon MLA Lakshmi Rajwade, administrative approval has been given to 33 road construction and upgradation works at a cost of Rs 150.56 crore for the financial year 2025-26. This important decision will significantly improve the transportation facilities in the rural and forest areas of Bhaiyathan and Odgi development blocks.
According to the approval issued by the Construction and Upgradation Department, the roads which have been approved were among the major demands of the area residents for a long time. The construction of these roads will ensure direct and easy connectivity with the main roads of remote and backward villages, which will give a new impetus to education, health, agriculture, trade and other socio-economic activities.
Prominent among the sanctioned works is the construction of Odagi Navatola Road (8.20 km from Dhuidih Pandopara) at a cost of Rs 28.99 crore. Apart from this, other important roads including Bhawarkhoh to Jamdi road (Rs 9.50 crore), Khond Navapara to Kesar road (Rs 8.73 crore), Madar to Bhadi Navapara road (Rs 8.38 crore) and Bhaurahi Devalaya to Shivpur road under Bhaiyathan development block will be constructed and upgraded.
The construction of these roads will not only ease transportation in rural areas, but will also provide convenience to farmers in transportation of agricultural produce, students will have easy access to educational institutions and common citizens will get relief in daily life. Besides, the expansion of the road network will also create new employment opportunities at the local level.
On the acceptance of road construction works, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Lakshmi Rajwade said that it is the resolve of the state government that the benefits of development should reach the last person of the society. He said that these roads, sanctioned at a cost of Rs 150.56 crore, will empower the rural economy and play an important role in the overall development of the area. He also assured that all the construction works will be completed as per high quality standards and within the stipulated time frame.
These approvals have created enthusiasm and a positive environment among the area residents and it is being expressed that the construction work will start soon under the leadership of Minister Lakshmi Rajwade and will provide new pace and direction to the development of the area.
