3 coaches of goods train fell into the river, many derailed, 16 trains had to be cancelled.

Patna. The train accident that took place near Jamui district of Bihar threw everything into disarray. In fact, a goods train laden with cement met with an accident at around 12 o’clock on Saturday night on the Jasidih-Jhajha main railway section of Asansol Railway Division of Eastern Railway. Three coaches of the goods train fell into the Bathua river and several derailed. Due to which the railway track was disrupted and 16 trains had to be cancelled. After the accident, the troubles of hundreds of passengers of Bihar have increased.
Operations on Howrah-Patna and Howrah-Muzaffarpur railway lines have also been affected. Railways is operating trains through other routes. Due to this, Railways diverted the 13020 Bagh Express train from Muzaffarpur to Howrah from Barauni itself. Meanwhile, this train was canceled at 16 stations. Whereas, 13019 Bagh Express coming to Muzaffarpur was canceled between Andal and Kiul. Due to which the problems of passengers boarding at Chittaranjan, Madhupur, Jasidih increased. He spent the whole night at these stations. Especially a large number of people from North Bihar are stranded in Jasidih. To which Railways is providing assistance.
According to the information, the accident happened on bridge number 676 located on Badhua river near Telwa Bazar Halt in the middle of Jasidih-Jhajha main railway section. It is said that a goods train laden with cement coming on the up track from Jasidih suddenly met with an accident. In the accident, three coaches of the goods train fell into the river below the bridge, while two coaches got separated from the train on the bridge itself.
At the same time, a dozen coaches of the goods train collided with each other and came down on the track of Jasidih-Jhajha main railway line. At present the reason for the accident is not clear. As soon as top railway officials got information about the matter, the concerned officials were sent to the spot late in the night. The damage could not be assessed yet in the darkness of the night. Due to the arrival of goods train coaches on the down track of the railway, the movement of trains on this route has been affected since around 12 o’clock in the night. Many railway officials have reached the spot. Here, information was given by Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Railways, that 08 coaches of a goods train derailed on 27.12.2025 at 23.25 hours near km 344/05 between Lahaban-Simultala stations of Asansol Division (Eastern Railway). Due to this, rail operations have been disrupted on both the up and down lines of this railway section. Upon receiving the information, ARTs from Asansol, Madhupur and Jhajha had left for the incident site and work is going on war footing to restore operations. Due to affected operations, many trains including Howrah Rajdhani are being diverted.
