Bhopal : Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Krishna Gaur said that the implementation of the schemes should be ensured within the time limit and with quality, so that the common people can get their benefits quickly and effectively. He said that it is the priority of the government to provide clean drinking water and better sewerage facilities to every citizen. Minister of State Gaur said this during the review of sewerage and drinking water projects under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme in the ministry. The progress of the development works being conducted in the area was discussed in detail in the meeting.
Under Amrit Phase 2.0, 60 MLD water is being supplied daily through 44 tanks to a population of about 5 lakh in zone numbers 13, 14, 15 and 16. Keeping in view the future requirement, construction of 9 additional tanks is proposed, which will take the total number of tanks to 53. Water supply will be ensured by tanks of 20 lakh liter capacity each in Laharpur, Amrai, Misrod, Panchvati, Barkheda Pathani, 15 lakh liter capacity in Kailash Nagar and 25 lakh liter capacity tanks each in Avadhpuri, Sonagiri and Ayodhya Nagar F sector. The proposed works under AMRUT 2.0 include expansion of new pipeline network and domestic tap connections, strengthening of existing water distribution system, construction of feeder pipelines for proposed overhead tanks (OHTs) and covering the remaining domestic and bulk connections under the scheme.
During the review of the sewerage project, he informed that under the Amrit 2.0 sewerage project, a 141 km long sewage pipeline network is being laid in the Govindpura area. This work is being done keeping in mind the future needs. Minister of State Gaur instructed the officials that the excavation work should be done keeping in mind the condition of the roads, so that the common citizens do not face inconvenience. Instructions were also given to prepare a concrete action plan to connect the colonies which are not yet connected to the network in future.
This sewage network will be laid in hundreds of colonies including Barkheda Pathani, Khajuri Kalan, Regal Paradise, Gopal Nagar, Bagh Mughalia, Amravati Khurd, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Mohan Nagar, Crystal Ideal, Regal Civic Centre, Bagh Sewania, 80 Feet Road, Avadhpuri, Laharpur, Arvind Vihar, Saket Nagar, AIIMS. Public representatives including local councilors and officials of related departments were present in the meeting.
