Neemuch: Cases of drug smuggling are continuously being detected in Ratlam, Neemuch and Mandsaur districts of Malwa. Now in Neemuch on Thursday, 12 kg MD drugs were seized from a car. One accused has been arrested. Its estimated market price is said to be Rs 12 crore. Police and narcotics team are engaged in investigation.
Smuggling from Rajasthan to Gujarat
Madhya Pradesh unit of Central Narcotics Bureau has taken this action in Neemuch. The Narcotics team succeeded in seizing a huge consignment of 12 kg of illegal Mephedrone (MD). These drugs were going from Pratapgarh in Rajasthan towards Gujarat in a car for smuggling.
The Narcotics team has registered a case and started investigation. This action was taken on the night of 16th December at the toll tax near Dhodhar on Mhow-Nasirabad highway.”
12 kg MD drugs were hidden in the packet
Madhya Pradesh unit of Central Narcotics, Neemuch issued a press note and said, “On the information of the informer, a car was stopped. When the car was searched, 12 kg of MD drug kept in a packet was seized. The accused in the car is being arrested and interrogated.”
10 packets of MD drugs found in the car
The team had received information that a car was carrying drugs from Ratlam towards Gujarat. After this the Narcotics team set up a blockade. When the car was stopped and searched at Chittorgarh passing on toll tax, 12 kg 55 grams of MD drugs packed in 10 packets were found in it.
Even 5 months ago, drugs worth Rs 44 lakh were seized in Ratlam.
Earlier, Ratlam police had caught 440 grams of MD drugs from two smugglers. Its price in the market was Rs 44 lakh 42 thousand. These drugs were also being taken from Mandsaur to Gujarat. At that time the accused had told the police that they had left from Daluda in Mandsaur with MD drugs and were taking them to Gujarat by changing buses.
