Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated and congratulated the police force for uprooting Naxalism from the soil of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav paid tribute to the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice on this front. He said that the police force was also appreciated in the special session of the Assembly on 17th December. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that development and public welfare activities should be conducted in the areas affected by Naxalism in such a way that Naxalism does not sprout again. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Director General of Police-Inspector General Conference for the year 2025 at the Police Headquarters. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that senior police officers should immediately start activities like surprise inspection in the areas of their charge. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was given a guard of honor on his arrival at the police headquarters. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspected the guard of honor. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed by Director General of Police Kailash Makwana and senior officials. Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shivshekhar Shukla, and senior police officers were present in the meeting.
In the conference that started under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said that this conference has been organized to review the implementation in the state of the instructions and action points of the All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspectors General of Police held in Raipur under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the topic “Developed India: Security Dimension”. He told that in the All India Conference, topics like internal security and law and order, police modernization, women safety, redevelopment of police station premises, Simhastha-2028 and cyber initiatives, use of technology and artificial intelligence in policing, dissemination of new laws, community policing, role of police in disaster management, efforts being made for de-addiction, tourist policing, forensic science, prevention of cyber crimes and road safety etc. will be discussed. Discussions took place regarding expectations from the state government.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the present era, social media has emerged as a very powerful tool as well as a serious challenge. Due to its misuse, the possibilities of spreading rumour, crime and confusion have also increased. Therefore, it is important that we use the power of social media with positive and creative content. The need of the hour is to take prompt and effective action against any misleading or provocative material in a timely manner. Along with this, in the age of social media, the expectation of quick help from the police has also increased among the common people. In order to provide immediate assistance to the victim in accordance with these expectations and feelings, the police force will have to be technically proficient and resourceful.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed the need to take special initiatives to change the perception of the general public about the police and for better communication between the police and the public. He said that the police should share information regarding their achievements and positive activities with the public representatives and the general public. Police officers should be active through media for better communication. The image of the police should be one of help, our effort should be that people look at the police with trust and not fear. There should be fear among criminals from the police but a feeling of trust and security should develop among the common people. Maintaining this trust is our biggest responsibility. It is necessary to create an environment in the society for women safety and children safety by encouraging community policing activities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav advised the police officers and employees to be alert about their language and behavior. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that those who make innovations in the police and conduct activities with social concern should be encouraged.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to reduce road accidents, the police will have to work on both awareness and technology. Special strategies should be made by identifying black spots in accident prone areas. Accidents can be reduced by regular patrolling on sensitive routes, speed control, strict monitoring of drunken driving and ensuring adherence to traffic rules. He expressed the need to expand the information about the Rahveer scheme applicable to those who take a person injured in a road accident to the hospital. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that special camps should be organized for eye testing of drivers. He said that there is a need to ensure that the drivers of 108 ambulances do not develop tie-ups with private hospitals.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that women’s safety is one of the top priorities of the state government and the police. Arrangements for special surveillance, regular patrolling and prompt action should be ensured in areas where crimes against women are more likely. Liquor ban has been implemented in religious cities with the aim of creating an anti-drug environment in the state. Strict action should be taken against those selling liquor through other means in these cities. Intoxication of drugs or other chemical substances other than alcohol will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that arrangements for training on various activities and specialties of police should be ensured in a single campus. In the meeting, instructions were given to prepare an action plan in collaboration with the Urban Administration Department for the development of densely populated and law and order sensitive areas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in many cities of the state including Ujjain and Burhanpur, people have facilitated the implementation of development activities by removing encroachments through self-motivation and community participation. Such examples should also be shared with the people of other cities, this will help in creating a positive environment for conducting development activities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to conduct social cultural activities in accordance with tribal culture and tradition in the state, similar to Bastar Olympics in Chhattisgarh.
The conference saw presentations by senior officers on Anti-Terrorist Squad, Law and Order, Left Wing Extremism, Police Modernization, Women Safety, Simhastha 2028, Cyber Security, Use of Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Police and Forensic Activities.
