Sunetra Pawar, wife of late NCP leader Ajit Pawar, has become the first woman Deputy CM of Maharashtra. Governor Acharya Devvrat administered him the oath of office as Deputy Chief Minister. Sunetra Pawar has graduated from Commerce. Both his father Bajirao and brother Padmasingh Patel are associated with politics. Sunetra had entered politics in the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2024. In this election he had to face defeat from Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule. However, she was elected unopposed as Rajya Sabha MP on 18 June 2024. Before taking up the post of Deputy CM, he left the post of Rajya Sabha MP.
