Bhopal: The Income Tax Department is preparing to take major action in the case of Saurabh Sharma, the famous former RTO constable of Madhya Pradesh. The executing authority of the Income Tax Department, while giving its verdict in this case, has considered Saurabh Sharma as the real owner of the recovered gold. Along with this, the process of confiscating properties worth about Rs 100 crore belonging to Saurabh Sharma and his close associate Chetan Singh Gaur is being started.

The troubles of former constable Saurabh Sharma and his colleague Chetan Gaur in the Transport Department in Bhopal are going to increase. Income Tax Department Director Vijay Kumar Panda Told that the executing authority of the Income Tax Department, while giving its verdict in this case, has accepted Saurabh Sharma as the real owner of the gold recovered from him. The owner of the Rs 11.6 crore cash that was recovered is Saurabh Sharma and Chetan Gaur. Let us tell you that this matter came into discussion when about 51 kg of gold and Rs 11.6 crore in cash were recovered from a car. The investigation revealed that this gold was linked to Saurabh Sharma.

The agencies had seized gold and cash before disposing of it.

According to the investigating agencies, Saurabh Sharma had bought about 52 kg of gold from a person named Pritam. It is being told that when the Lokayukta team raided the premises of Saurabh Sharma, he was present in Dubai. As soon as he got information about the raid, he called his driver from Dubai and asked him to remove the car from there, so that recovery could be avoided. However, due to the alertness of the investigating agencies, the car was caught and a huge amount of gold and cash was recovered from it.

The value of attached properties is Rs 100 crore, there may be big revelations

The Benami Prohibition Unit (BPU) of the Income Tax Department had also taken action in this entire matter. Now the Executing Authority has justified the action of BPU saying that the seized properties come under the ambit of benami property. The Income Tax Department had temporarily attached the properties related to Saurabh Sharma and his associates in August 2025.

At that time, the estimated value of these properties was estimated to be around Rs 52 crore, but after the investigation progressed and the valuation of the properties, their total value has now reached around Rs 100 crore.

According to the Income Tax Department, about 32 properties related to Saurabh Sharma have been identified. Now the department will start the process of confiscating all these properties. It is expected that many important revelations will be made in this matter in the future. At present, the investigating agencies are busy in finding out the entire network and the source of money.
