Earlier some people considered it an ordinary place, but today it has become a vibrant center of development and innovation.
Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi had inaugurated the Micron ATMP center in Sanand. This historic event, marking the beginning of commercial production, is a significant milestone in India’s journey towards global technology leadership. The foundation stone of this project was laid in September 2023 and was the first proposal to be approved under the India Semiconductor Mission. With a total outlay of more than Rs 22,500 crore, construction work started immediately after approval. This reflects the government’s commitment to accelerate strategic semiconductor investment in the country.
The Prime Minister said that in Sanand we are seeing the beginning of a new future. The commencement of commercial production at Micron’s ATMP facility is set to strengthen India’s role in the global technology value chain. PM Modi mentioned the mindset of the new India, where the shift from policy to production is happening at an unprecedented pace. He said India has simplified the complex regulatory processes to a great extent and has successfully approved advance pricing agreements in a matter of a few months. He said that even in developed countries this process usually takes three to five years to complete. PM Modi said that when the intention is clear and there is dedication towards the rapid development of the nation, policies become transparent and decisions gain momentum.
