Madhya Pradesh. During the Question Hour on the ninth day of the budget session of the Assembly, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar raised the issue of Adani Group’s coal block located in Dhiroli in Singrauli district prominently in the House. The Leader of Opposition said that land of 8 villages is being acquired for the coal block and as per the collector’s list, 12,998 families are affected. He alleged that the affected tribal families have not been given full compensation and there have been serious irregularities in the compensation distribution.
Compensation amount was also given to outsiders
He said in the House that compensation amount has also been given to outsiders. Giving examples, he said that a compensation of more than Rs 15 lakh was given to the wife of police station in-charge Jitendra Bhadauria and about Rs 14 lakh was given to Swati Singh, wife of traffic in-charge Deependra Singh Kushwaha. The Leader of Opposition demanded an impartial investigation into this entire matter by constituting a Legislative Assembly Committee (JPC).
‘Adani is being benefited in the name of coal block’
The Leader of Opposition accused the government that Adani is being benefited in the name of coal block, while the affected people are not getting their rights. He clearly said that until the investigation of the entire episode is completed and all the affected people get full compensation, the work on the coal block should be stopped with immediate effect. The Leader of Opposition also said that when the Congress delegation went to visit the area, it was stopped from going there. Thousands of policemen were deployed. Video evidence is also available in this regard. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar and Congress MLAs demanded an investigation into the entire matter by the Assembly Committee. When the demand was not accepted and a clear answer was not received from the government, the Congress MLAs walked out of the House in protest.
