Bhopal : With the aim of maintaining law and order in the state and strengthening the sense of security among common citizens, Madhya Pradesh Police is taking continuous, planned and effective action against the manufacture, storage, transportation and use of illegal weapons. As a result of this, in the last two weeks, the police in various districts of the state have taken action against inter-state gangs involved in illegal weapons possession, aerial firing, spreading terror and serious criminal activities and have seized 34 fire arms, live cartridges, vehicles and other material.
STF Gwalior – Two accused arrested with illegal weapons
STF Gwalior unit, taking effective action on the basis of informer’s information, arrested two accused from Shivpuri area. During the action, 03 pistols and 04 live rounds were seized from the possession of the accused.
Shivpuri – Decisive action against illegal arms manufacturing factory
Police has achieved great success in Karaira police station area of ​​Shivpuri district in the direction of eliminating the source of illegal weapons. Based on the information received, the police raided the factory manufacturing illegal weapons and arrested two accused from the spot. The police seized 07 illegal weapons, 05 live cartridges along with machines, tools and other materials used in manufacturing weapons from the factory. The estimated value of the seized material is estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh. A case has been registered against the accused under Arms Act and other sections and investigation is being done.
Barwani – Big action against interstate gang
Julwania police station arrested 05 interstate accused returning from theft from Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar) in Maharashtra. Materials worth more than Rs 38 lakh 91 thousand including 05 fire arms, 03 live cartridges, gold and silver jewellery, cash and other materials have been seized from the possession of the accused.
Similarly, effective action was taken against illegal weapons on different days in different districts of the state. 05-05 illegal weapons have been seized in Gwalior and Datia districts, 03 illegal weapons in Chhatarpur district, 02 illegal weapons in Morena district. Whereas 01-01 illegal weapons have been seized in Ujjain, Satna, Sagar and Jabalpur districts.
Through these actions, the accused who spread terror by firing at public places in different cases in the districts were identified and arrested quickly. Country-made pistols (9MM, 32 bore, 315 bore), live rounds, empty shells, knives, daggers along with motorcycles and cars were seized. Machines, tools and other materials used in manufacturing illegal weapons were recovered and neutralized.
Madhya Pradesh Police is taking continuous, strict and fair action under the zero tolerance policy against illegal weapons and elements involved in criminal activities.
