Raipur : Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Public Enterprises, Commercial Taxes and Labor Department, today participated in the Maa Parameshwari Mahotsav organized by Dewangan Jankalyan Samiti Durg. On this occasion, he duly worshiped the idol of Maa Parameshwari, the presiding deity of Devangan community, and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state.

Addressing the festival, Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan laid special emphasis on strengthening the unity and organization of the society. He said that being organized is very important for the progress of the society. Only when the society remains organized, it will be able to progress in every field including education, business, government service and politics. He said that today many societies have made remarkable progress in various fields, but some societies are still lagging behind. In such a situation, there is a need for all societies to work together, so that every person can get an opportunity to move forward. He especially emphasized on good education of children and said that only education makes the society strong and self-reliant.
Minister Dewangan said that the Chief Minister of the state and the Prime Minister of the country also have the same objective that every section of the society should progress. Reiterating the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas”, he stressed the need for all-round development of the society.
Vice Chairman of Other Backward Classes Development Authority of the state and Durg Rural MLA attended as special guests. Describing the Devangan community as a settled and conscious society, he said that this society has been making important contribution in the field of trade, agriculture and textile manufacturing for a long time. He said that Devangan community has also played an important role in Kosa trade in Janjgir-Champa region. He said that any society progresses only when it is organized and strong, and for this education is very important. Expressing concern, he said that due to weak economic condition, many times sons and daughters are not able to move ahead. The society should create such a system that strengthens the economic situation and gives children the opportunity to move forward. He said that the society should not become a job seeking society but a job giving society.
During this, Khadi Village Industries President Rakesh Pandey appealed to the women to take maximum benefits of the public welfare schemes of the government. He said that overall development of the society and the state is possible only through empowerment of women. On this occasion, society president Puranik Lal Dewangan, Kamlesh Dewangan, Sankatlal Dewangan, Ashok Dewangan, Kalpana Dewangan, Tulsi Sahu along with society officials and public representatives were present in large numbers.
