Bhopal. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing the ‘Prabuddha Jan Sammelan’ organized at Ravindra Bhawan, Bhopal, discussed in detail the thoughts, methodology and future goals of the Sangh. The main objective of this program organized to commemorate the centenary of the Sangh (completion of hundred years) was to convey the true picture of the Sangh to the common people. In his address, he spoke bluntly on the definition of Hindutva and the RSS’s relations with organizations like BJP and VHP.
‘Hindu is not a caste, it is an attitude’
While explaining Hindutva, Mohan Bhagwat made it clear that Hindu is not a caste, rather it is the similar mentality and nature of different societies. He said, ‘The name Hindu was given because we believe and respect all sects and sects. Hindu, Hindavi and India, all three are one and the same. Saying ‘Hindu’ binds us all together. It is not just a religion, but the basic nature of India. He stressed that the idea of Sangh is not a new or different idea, rather it is an idea that has been going on since ancient times, which is equally relevant even today.
‘Don’t understand Sangh by looking at BJP and VHP’
Clearing the confusion on the relationship between the Sangh and its affiliated organizations, the Sarsanghchalak made an important comment. He said that if you try to understand the Sangh by looking at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) or Vidya Bharati, you will never be able to understand the Sangh. Bhagwat clarified, “The job of the Sangh is only to prepare volunteers. The Sangh gives them ideas, values and goals. After this, these volunteers go to different areas of the society and work. The way of working of BJP or VHP is different, they do their work independently. The values have been given to them by the Sangh, but their actions are responsible for the Sangh. cannot be defined.
‘The Sangh runs on Gurudakshina, not donations’
Recalling the struggles of the Sangh, Bhagwat said that hardly any organization in the world has faced as much opposition as the RSS. There was propaganda against the Sangh, murders took place, but the volunteers did not lose courage. Talking about the financial purity of the Sangh, he said that the Sangh never asks for donations from anyone. This organization is completely run by ‘Gurudakshina’ given by volunteers.
expansion is the only goal
Emphasizing the need for expansion of the Sangh, he cited statistics. He told that at present the Sangh has about 60 lakh volunteers, but the population of the country is more than 100 crores and there are more than 1.25 lakh villages. In such a situation, the Sangh still has a lot of work to do. He said that RSS was not established in competition or opposition to anyone, the Sangh is complete in itself and its only goal is to strengthen the organization and reach every person of the society.
